Regional Commander of Marine Region (RC MAR) Ng Cheuk-hang led a delegation to attend the 4th Coast Guard Global Summit in Rome, Italy between September 10 and 12. The Summit was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Italy Ms Giorgia Meloni and brought together 115 leaders of coast guard and maritime organisations from 99 countries and regions. In response to contemporary maritime challenges, the Summit discussed strengthening regional and international cooperation, maritime safety and security, combatting illicit activities across sea borders, as well as fisheries and marine environmental protection activities.


In addition, RC MAR led another delegation to Sydney, Australia to attend the 21st Heads of Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting between October 13 and 16. Representatives from 22 countries and two international organisations shared best practices and strategic insights through five working groups under the meeting’s framework, jointly advancing the vision of “Safe, Secure and Clean Seas for the Future”.
