The Quick Reaction Force of New Territories North (NTN), the Regional Missing Person Unit of NTN, the Key Points and Search Division, and the Information Systems Wing partnered with the Civil Aid Service (CAS), the Fire Services Department, the Government Flying Service, and other government departments as well as mountaineering organisations to hold the 76th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and Mountaineering Safety Promotion Day 2025 on October 19 with a view to enhancing public awareness of hiking safety.


The Under Secretary for Security Mr Michael Cheuk, the Chief Staff Officer of CAS Mr Leung Kwun-hong, Director of Operations Lui Kam-ho, together with representatives from other government departments, officiated at the event. In his speech, Mr Cheuk thanked the various disciplined services and mountaineering organisations for establishing a solid safety net for outdoor activities in Hong Kong. He reminded the public to ensure their own safety and the safety of others when participating in high-risk hiking activities.


During the event, the Force exhibited a range of search and rescue equipment, shared mountain rescue experiences, and held a thematic seminar on HKSOS as well as police dogs performance.
