Kowloon East Region (KE) has been committed to leveraging information technology to enhance public services and promote the development of smart policing in recent years. At the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2025 presentation ceremony held on November 21, KE received two Bronze Awards in the categories of “Smart Mobility (Smart Tourism)” and “Smart Mobility (Smart Transport)” with Easy Leave platform and Kwun Tong Smart Traffic Management System (STMS).
Launched in February specifically for the Kai Tak Sports Park, Easy Leave is the world’s first website integrating real-time artificial intelligence crowd-flow analysis results with comprehensive transport information. In preparation for the 15th National Games (NG) and the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games, an upgraded version of Easy Leave was introduced in October. In addition to enhanced interface design, the upgraded version also includes information on the 15th NG, real-time traffic information, and a Lite version designed for the taxi industry and spectators. The website has recorded over 900 000 visits since its launch, effectively assisting spectators in leaving safely and orderly after mega events.
The Kwun Tong STMS employs artificial intelligence to integrate real-time image analysis and simulation modelling for monitoring traffic flow and incident conditions. The system assists frontline units in flexible manpower deployment, enhances operational efficiency, and optimises the Transport Department’s traffic signal system, improving overall traffic operation in the district.
The Force will continue to collaborate with innovation and technology enterprises as well as the academia to leverage technology to create a safer and more convenient living environment for the public.
