Arranged by the Police College (College), the Regional Commander of Kowloon West (RC KW) Ng Lok-chun attended the Senior Fellowship in Public Service Programme organised by the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of the National University of Singapore in October. A total of 46 senior executives from Asian countries participated in the programme.
The five-week Programme explored the pivotal trends and policy challenges in the past decade, and analysed the regional transformations. Through thematic lectures, case studies and group discussions, the trainees examined the public sector leadership, policy implementation, technological innovation and contemporary social issues. RC KW also shared operational leadership experiences and discussed management challenges with fellow trainees during the Programme.

Chief Inspectors Kwok Yi-man, Lai Yu-ho, Lam Ka-tsing and Leung Yee-tak went to Manly, Australia to attend a programme for the Graduate Certificate in Applied Management (Policing and Emergency Service) organised by the Australian Institute of Police Management from November 9 to 21. Prior to departure, the four officers have completed two distance learning modules covering strategic management theories as well as public safety and emergency services management.
A total of 32 police or emergency services officers from Australia, New Zealand, Nauru and Hong Kong participated in the programme. The trainees acquired knowledge covering leadership theories, strategic planning with foresight, next-generation policing practice, environmental scanning skills, public values, public sector morality, stress management and so on through lectures, discussions, presentations and written assignments. The four officers all indicated that the programme elevated their leadership acumen effectively, and also fostered professional exchange and cooperation among the trainees from different regions.
