Project Legacy conducted three thematic visits in November, arranging a total of 48 teachers and students from New Life Schools Incorporation Lui Kwok Pat Fong College, Shau Kei Wan Government Secondary School, and Ying Wa College respectively to visit the Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group. Led by the Head Ambassador cum Assistant Commissioner (Service Quality) Tsui Sheung-yee, Police Ambassadors who graduated from the aforementioned schools also participated in the activity.
During the visits, teachers and students toured the Group’s History Museum and Multimedia News Centre, gaining insights into the evolution of the news industry and the nation’s significant achievements since modern times. Students also served as “student news anchors”, simulating news reporting to experience news production workflows and learn about the integration of traditional and new media as well as the advancement in news communication technology.
In the exchange session, students engaged in in-depth discussions with representatives of the media organisation on topics including media roles and news authenticity. Participating teachers and students remarked that the activities not only deepened their understanding of media work but also strengthened their recognition of the nation’s development through authentic historical records. Project Legacy will continue to foster connections between the Force and schools through diversified activities.
