To deepen and enhance the professional knowledge of prosecutors and crime officers in handling the investigation and prosecution concerning cases related to explosive substance, Organized Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB), together with Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau (EOD) and Department of Justice (DoJ), co-organised a cross-departmental workshop on December 19, 2025.

The workshop covered an introduction of the functions of EOD, explosion principles, on-scene evidence collection, categories of precursor and explosive substance. EOD arranged experimental detonations of home-made explosive substance, which enabled participants to personally experience the power and destructiveness of explosive substance.

Officers engaged in discussions and shared experiences based on real cases in the thematic exchange session, which enhanced mutual and tacit understanding in their respective areas of work, and elevated the overall capabilities of different departments in handling, investigating, and prosecuting explosive substance cases.
