In order to support the strategic direction “Digital Policing” and enhance the efficiency of frontline officers in handling traffic accidents, Traffic Branch Headquarters (TBHQ) plans to enhance eTADO system to become “Electronic Traffic Accident Record” (eTA), in order to cover Traffic Accidents with Personal Injury (TAPI) cases. To this end, TBHQ held two Focus Group Meetings on December 17 and 22, 2025 to introduce the eTA mobile app and backend platform to regional traffic units and district traffic teams, and gather officers’ feedback to ensure the system design of eTA matches operational requirements.

Whilst the current eTADO system has digitised the reporting procedure for “Traffic Accident Damage Only” cases, eTA will replace paper-based reporting for TAPI cases, help officers record the particulars of the accidents more accurately and effectively at the scenes, enhance the workflow of overall investigation work, and make traffic accident handling fully digitalised.

Frontline officers actively gave views regarding the system interface and practical application of eTA during the interactive sessions. TBHQ will maintain close liaison with frontline officers, ensuring the enhanced functions to be practical to further enhance traffic enforcement and accident handling efficiency.
