The Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Agency for Volunteer Service held the Hong Kong Volunteer Award Presentation Ceremony 2025 on January 9. The then Police Constable of the Emergency Unit of New Territories North Yung Chun-kit, the then Sergeant of Sau Mau Ping District Kwok Hoi-kit and Sergeant of Chai Wan Division Chung Siu-hang were awarded this year’s Heroic Volunteer Award. Yung Chun-kit helped extinguish a fire in Tseung Kwan O Plaza when he was off duty on December 18, 2024; while Kwok Hoi-kit and Chung Siu-hang subdued an emotionally agitated man with a knife and neutralised the threat at the scene when they were off duty on April 27, 2025.
