The “2026 Kowloon West Region (KW) Community Crime-Fighting Partners and Outstanding Police Officers Commendation Ceremony” was held on March 9 to commend the community crime-fighting partners and the frontline officers with outstanding performance.
The Regional Commander of Kowloon West (RC KW) Ng Lok-chun thanked in his address the awardees for their contributions in their respective roles, and mentioned that fighting crime relies on the collaborative effort of the Force and all sectors of the community. This cooperation and commitment fully embodied the spirit of police-community collaboration.
The community crime-fighting partners commended this year came from various sectors and positions, including arts and culture industries, transport sector, tertiary institutions, as well as frontline practitioners in taxi, banking and property management sectors.
There were also 15 officers in the Force who were awarded the “Outstanding Police Officer Award”, among whom the then Police Constable of Emergency Unit KW
Hui Chung-hang, Sergeant of Yau Tsim District Lam Andrew, Detective Police Constable of Mong Kok District Yeung Hom-yi, Police Constable of Task Force Sub-unit of Sham Shui Po Division Cheung Pak-lun, and Detective Police Constable of Kowloon City District Li Siu-fung received Gold Awards. The performances of the awardees in handling cases fully demonstrated the professionalism and commitment of the Force.
The venue of the ceremony featured booths from the National Security Department, the Narcotics Bureau, the Inter-departmental Counter Terrorism Unit, the Recruitment Division, the Hong Kong Police Mobile App, the HKSOS emergency mobile application, and the Road Safety Team of Traffic Kowloon West, enabling the participants to have a deeper understanding of the Force’s work across different areas. The Children’s Traffic Safety Team of the Dominic Savio Kindergarten (Olympic Branch) and the Lion Dance Team of the Clement Kindergarten were also invited to perform in the event.
