Deputy Commissioner (Management) (DCP MAN) Chan Joon-sun, together with Director of Finance, Administration and Planning Chan Chun-tak and Police Civil Secretary Lau Wai-wan, met representatives of seven civilian staff associations at a lunch gathering on March 13.
The attending representatives were from Association of the Police Translators, Association of the Police Communication Officers, Hong Kong Traffic Wardens Union, HKSAR Government Traffic Wardens General Union, Hong Kong Police Force Telecommunications Technical Staff Union, Hong Kong Police Force Model Scale I Staff Association and Hong Kong Police Force Civilian Officers' Union respectively. They exchanged views with the management on the development of their grades and matters of concern to their grade members.
DCP MAN commended the civilian staff for their contributions in maintaining the safety and stability of our society over the past year. While it is necessary for the Force to continue to manage resources prudently through internal deployment and streamlined procedures, the Force would still arrange recruitment for the relevant grades and fill the vacancies in stages. He also mentioned that the Force had been proactively applying innovative technology to enhance work efficiency in recent years, and would continue to explore a wider application of artificial intelligence technology to facilitate officers in discharging their duties and promote smart policing. He looked forward to all civilian staff continuing to uphold the spirit of loyalty, professionalism, and innovation, and embrace future challenges.
