The Police College (College) sent instructor delegations to Cambodia, Thailand and Singapore to deliver training and undertake professional exchanges in March.
Cambodia
Director of the College Cheng Lai-ki led some instructors from the Weapons Training Division of the College and paid a courtesy visit to the Police Academy of Cambodia (PAC) between March 16 and 19. The heads of the two academies held in-depth discussions on topics including the deepening of police training exchanges of the two places, academic research, and the enhancement of officers’ law enforcement capabilities.
This visit also marked the first overseas institutional exchange undertaken by the instructors from the Weapons Training Division of the College. They provided professional courses for Cambodian tactical instructors, covering practical policing topics including the use of force and tactical training.
Thailand
Deputy Director of the College Choi Tung-tsoi led an instructor delegation to pay a courtesy visit to the Royal Thai Police Education Bureau on March 13 for reinforcing training collaboration of both parties, exchanging best practices, and exploring opportunities for professional development and officer exchanges in the future.
The delegation also toured the training facilities of the Royal Thai Police to understand their training systems and practical applications.
Singapore
Head of the School of Foundation Training Tsang Chiu-tong led an instructor delegation and visited the Training Command of the Singapore Police Force (SPF) between March 16 and 19 for an instructor exchange and training programme.
Instructors from the School of Foundation Training shared how to use physical challenges to enhance the psychological resilience of the recruits and promote the training model of “inspiring mindset”. Both sides also explored how to cultivate the decision-making abilities and sense of responsibility of the recruits through simulated scenarios and team challenges.
The delegation also observed training sessions of the SPF, and explored the challenges and solutions of the two sides in terms of the use of training resources and risk management.
