The National Security Department (NSD) launched the NStudio Marketing Proposal Competition this year to deepen primary and secondary students’ reflection on the close link between national security and everyday life and promote the message that safeguarding national security is everyone’s responsibility. The competition consisted of three stages. The first two stages required participants to submit a national security (NS) marketing proposal and a short video elaborating on their submission respectively. The advancing teams need to showcase and present their NS marketing proposal to the judges in the final stage.

Following previous workshops on marketing and short video production, NSD invited star public speaking tutor Mr Wong Cho-lam to conduct the Star Public Speaking Workshop on April 17 to enhance the participants’ skills. Over 200 teachers and students participating in the competition attended. Mr Wong shared with the participants the experience and skills in public speaking, as well as his experience in handling unexpected situations.

The final of the competition took place on April 25 at the Police Officers’ Club. The finalist teams presented and introduced their national security promotion products as well as the implementation plans, which were evaluated on-site by a panel of 12 community leaders and National Security Education District Tutors.

The participants expressed that the competition enhanced their understanding of NS, while the workshop improved their various skills, making it a valuable learning experience. The NSD will continue to organise diverse activities to cultivate NS awareness among young people.
