Fully sponsored by the Kowloon West Youth-Care Committee (KWYCC) and led by officers from the Kowloon West Regional Juvenile Protection Section (JPS KW), eight youths under supervision visited Beijing from April 2 to 6 to learn about the nation’s history, culture and development. During the visit, the youngsters, together with JPS KW officers, participated in the 2026 Beijing Third Olympic Forest Park Spring Run on April 4, with one team winning third place in the three-person team race.

To prepare for the competition, more than 20 teenagers underwent three months of systematic training. Personally guided by officers from JPS KW, they built a solid physical foundation and a sense of discipline. After the training, eight members with good conduct and a high level of discipline were selected to participate in the competition.

Chairman of the KWYCC Dr Siu Miu-man pointed out that since the training helped strengthen the physical fitness and willpower of the youths supervised by JPS KW, the KWYCC would continue to promote this activity, encouraging more young people to build confidence, discipline and team spirit through sports training, while deepening their understanding of the nation.

Since its establishment in 2001, the KWYCC has been dedicated to supporting and educating young people and preventing them from going astray by organising various activities and training programs.
