Wan Chai District (WCHDIST) held the opening ceremony of the “Wan Chai Time Corridor” on April 24, and invited several former District Commanders to serve as officiating guests.

“Wan Chai Time Corridor” utilises the passage connecting the Wan Chai Police Station and the Police Headquarters on the sixth floor for exhibiting precious photographs documenting the major public meetings, processions, security operations, and crowd management events handled by the District over the years, as well as the cooperation with local organisations and various sectors. This Corridor also introduces the Force’s Strategic Directions and the evolution of WCHDIST over the last half-century.

Former Commanders shared bits and pieces of the past working life after the opening ceremony, and encouraged officers to carry forward the fine traditions of the District.

A young Inspector attending the event stated that the sharing of the seniors enabled them to understand that policing in the past was full of challenges, while the sense of vocation and honour are the biggest motivation for officers to rise to the challenges ahead.
