To support the Forcewide Handgun Replacement Exercise, the Auxiliary Support Bureau has been providing training of new “CF98-A” semi-automatic pistol to Auxiliary Police recruits starting from January 12. Trainees are required to undergo a total of 64 hours of training and to pass the relevant assessments which cover pistol introduction, weapon handling, range procedures, shooting skills and mini range training sessions. The content and the number of hours align with those of Regular Recruit Police Constables. It is expected that the first batch of approximately 150 Auxiliary members qualified to carry the new pistol on duty will pass out on August 15.
