To promote the development of digital policing within the Force, Deputy Commissioner (Management) (DCP MAN)
Chan Joon-sun led a five-member delegation, including the Director of the Police College Cheng Lai-ki and officers from the Information Systems Wing, to visit Hangzhou on May 11 and 12. The visit focused on observing local smart policing practices and technological applications.
The delegation paid courtesy visits to the Zhejiang Provincial Public Security Department and Hangzhou Public Security Bureau Binjiang Sub-bureau to learn about the latest progress in leveraging technology to support policing development. They also exchanged experiences with various units on topics such as digital policing and police training. Additionally, the delegation visited the Binjiang District Olympic Sports Air Traffic Control Centre to gain insights into the application of automated drones in police operations and the operation of the command and control system.
Subsequently, the delegation visited the Zhejiang Police College to observe the smart teaching platform, as well as facilities for virtual simulation training and cybersecurity education. Both sides discussed ways to enhance police training and talent cultivation through technology, and exchanged views on future cooperation in the training of police officers.
The delegation also toured the Ant Group and Unitree Robotics. Representatives from these companies demonstrated to the delegation the potential applications of artificial intelligence, intelligent robotics and big data technology in public safety, smart patrolling and frontline rescue operations.
This visit further strengthened the exchanges and cooperation between the Force and its Zhejiang counterparts, while promoting future collaboration in digital policing, police training and innovative digital applications.
