In recent years, an increasing number of Hong Kong students have chosen to study at universities in the Chinese Mainland, with many aspiring to return to Hong Kong after graduation to serve the community. To recruit high-calibre talents into the Force, Senior Superintendent Hung Ngan, who is studying the Master Programme in Public Policy at the School of Government of Peking University, and Chief Inspector Cheung Ka-lok, an instructor from the Force stationed at the People’s Public Security University of China, participated in the 2026 Civil Service Recruitment Seminar held at Peking University on May 15. The event was organised by the Office of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) in Beijing.

Additionally, Senior Inspector Leung Kin-tung from the Recruitment Division attended the 2026 Career Counselling Session for Hong Kong Students organised by the Shenzhen Liaison Unit of the Government of the HKSAR on May 14.

Through keynote presentations and group sharing sessions, they introduced Hong Kong students currently studying at universities in the Chinese Mainland to the diverse police work, provided recruitment information and encouraged them to join the Force. These two recruitment activities attracted the participation of more than 270 students, deepening the understanding of the Force among Hong Kong students studying in Beijing and Guangdong.
