The New Territories South Region (NTS) held the third liaison meeting with non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) community leaders and Ethnic Minority (EM) Care Teams on May 7. Chaired by Deputy Regional Commander of NTS Yeung Man-pun, the meeting was attended by seven NEC community leaders within the region and representatives of EM Care Teams from four districts.
At the meeting, Yeung Man-pun expressed gratitude to all leaders and representatives for their continuous support to the Force in promoting engagement with NEC communities. Meanwhile, he appreciated their assistance in disseminating important anti-deception, crime prevention and community safety messages to different communities.
The meeting was also supported by the Fire Services Department (FSD) and the HOPE Centre for Ethnic Minority, which shared information on community fire prevention and emergency preparedness, as well as interpretation and translation services for EMs. Officers from the NTS Regional Intelligence Unit presented the latest crime statistics, while the NTS Regional Crime Prevention Officer provided practical anti-deception information. Participants were also encouraged to download and use the Hong Kong Police Mobile App.
Participants commended the Force for proactively maintaining communication with NEC communities, helping them integrate into society. They also recognised the effectiveness of the Force’s anti-deception publicity efforts.
