On March 28, the then Acting Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Mr Woo Kin-man attended the passing-out parade of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) at its Headquarters as the Reviewing Officer. He witnessed the achievements of 87 auxiliary officers who completed the Annual Continuation Training and 70 graduates of the Basic Training Course.

Mr Woo praised the auxiliary officers for embracing the aspiration of serving the community in their spare time. Their dedication reflects perseverance, responsibility and unity, exemplifying the spirit of working together to build a peaceful society. He also thanked the Auxiliary Police for deploying over 2 000 officers to support last year’s Legislative Council election, providing assistance at more than 600 polling stations to ensure the election was conducted smoothly.

Mr Woo hoped that the auxiliary members would continue to play the “police-and-citizen” role, becoming community role models and actively promoting crime prevention and deterrence. He also highlighted the importance of working with the regular officers to strengthen the social security and crime prevention system, thereby providing Hong Kong with a high level of safety and security. Additionally, he encouraged the new auxiliary members to adapt to changes, care for the people, and continue contributing to Hong Kong’s stability and prosperity.
