Established by the Inter-departmental Counter Terrorism Unit (ICTU), the Safe Community Hub was fully enhanced in June to further improve its facilities and enrich visitor experience.

The Hub has introduced a number of new interactive features, including the “Finding Suspicious Persons” touchscreen game for learning how to identify suspicious persons, and the “Spot and Report” instant newspaper photo booth. The Hub also introduced the newly upgraded 4D Mini Theatre. Through brand-new videos featuring effects such as smoke, ambient sound and simulated attacks, the theatre creates highly realistic scenarios. Participants can personally learn how to apply the advisories of “Spot and Report” and “Run, Hide, Report” in response to terrorist attacks or violent incidents.

Since its opening in November 2023, the Hub has been enhancing counter-terrorism awareness and emergency preparedness of the public through a variety of interactive and experiential activities. To date, around 29 000 visitors have visited it.

Police districts, schools, community organisations and institutions can make reservations to visit the Hub. Please refer to the ICTU webpage or WeChat Mini Programme “Safe Community” for details.
