The Annual Meeting of Project Legacy (the Project) was held on June 11 at Police Headquarters. Chaired by Assistant Commissioner (Service Quality) (ACP SQ) cum the Head Ambassador of the Project Tsui Sheung-yee, the meeting reviewed achievements over the past year as well as conducted in-depth exchanges and planning on future development directions with representatives from Police Ambassadors of 47 local secondary schools. ACP SQ also appointed Chief Superintendent of Conditions of Service and Discipline Branch Au Yeung Mun-yee as Deputy Head Ambassador of the Project.
ACP SQ expressed appreciation for the proactive dedication and contributions of all Police Ambassadors over the past year. They visited multiple secondary schools and organised a variety of activities which strengthened ties between the Force and the school stakeholders, and promoted a positive image of the Force.
She also introduced the “LEGACY x STEAM” initiative which integrates the Project with STEAM education. Through collaboration with different enterprises, the initiative will provide students with visits and short-term work experience opportunities, enabling them to understand the application of technology in modern enterprises.
Since its launch in 2017, the Project has been encouraging officers to return to their alma maters as Police Ambassadors to foster connections with principals, teachers, students, and parents through a wide range of activities, realising the concepts of “giving back to the alma mater, passing on school mottos, and serving the community”. ACP SQ said that proactive preparations for the 10th anniversary of the Project are underway, and she looked forward to joining hands with stakeholders to witness this important milestone.
