The School of Professional Development (School) of the Police College (College) organised two key leadership programmes (supervisory) in the first half of 2026.
The School organised a ten-day Senior Command Course between May 4 and 15 which brought together 25 Superintendents and
police officers of equivalent rank from the United Arab Emirates, Australia, and the Netherlands. The course focused on issues such as strategic leadership, contemporary policing challenges and cross-boundary cooperation, facilitating the professional exchanges and experience sharing among senior officers. Meanwhile, Advisor to Hong Kong Science and Technology Park Corporation Dr Allan Zeman carried out a sharing on “Propelling Success and Driving Positive Changes”. The sharing session was also broadcast live through video-conferencing to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, drawing the participation of around 100 local officers.
In addition, the School also organised a Directorate Development Programme between March 26 and 27, and a total of 19 directorate officers took part in it. The programme invited Mrs Regina Ip and Mr Bernard Charnwut Chan to share their insights on “The Impact of Geopolitics on Leadership, Management and Communications” and “Hong Kong’s Edges from the Global Perspective” respectively, enhancing trainees’ understanding of the global situation and leadership environment.
The programmes fully demonstrate the School’s commitment to nurturing police leaders with forward-looking vision, international perspective, and outstanding leadership capabilities, while laying a solid foundation for the continuous promotion of international exchanges.
