Psychological Services Group (PSG) launched the Police Coaching Community (PCC) since February 2025 to provide a platform for commanders to share leadership development and coaching insights. Over 200 commanders at the rank of Superintendent and above have joined the PCC, and the number of participants keeps on increasing.
The PCC held its first “Leadership Insight Session” of the “Leaders Talk Series” on June 5, and the Chairman of MTR Corporation Limited Dr Kam Chak‑pui was invited as the keynote speaker. The event was officiated by Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Dr Law Yuet‑wing, drawing the attendance of around 50 Force commanders.
With over three decades of experience in managing Hong Kong’s railway system, Dr Kam Chak‑pui, during the session, shared how he gradually evolved from a technical expert striving for excellence into a people-oriented “empowerer”, guiding his team to rise to the challenges ahead and steering steadily amid change and uncertainty.
Dr Kam Chak-pui also encouraged the participants to achieve continuous improvement of their daily work. Proactively shouldering new responsibilities, they should lead their teams to uphold the mission and build trust, as well as empower members’ growth and steer the team towards a shared development path.
