Attending international forums in Kazakhstan and Portugal
The Service Quality Wing (SQW)’s delegation, together with the Independent Commission Against Corruption, went to Kazakhstan to attend the GovHR Forum 2.0 from June 16 to 19, introduced the Force’s integrity management framework and shared anti-corruption experiences to over 300 public sector leaders and professionals from more than 20 countries. Officers also exchanged views with participants on advancing smart policing and tackling policing challenges, and held discussions on future collaboration. During the visit, the delegation was received by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr Han Chunlin. He highly commended the outcomes of the visit and encouraged the Force to continue showcasing the successful implementation of “One Country, Two Systems” and the edge in ethics governance.
Afterwards, officers from the SQW travelled to Portugal to attend the 35th International Police Executive Symposium from June 21 to 26, and promoted
the Force’s ethics governance experience. In addition, the officers held bilateral meetings with the International Cooperation Unit of the Portuguese Judiciary Police and the National Anti-Corruption Mechanism of Portugal for initiating in-depth exchanges on issues such as advancing cooperation and internal governance.
Establishing international exchange platforms for officers
In alignment with the Force’s strategic direction, SQW has been proactively establishing international exchange platforms to comprehensively empower officers for supporting them to broaden their horizons and honing their professional competencies through the provision of diverse overseas learning opportunities.
Sergeant Yuen Pak-ho of the Integrity Audit Action Group was also sent to Kazakhstan to participate in the GovHR Forum 2.0 for introducing the Force’s ethics governance regime to participants. In addition, the then Sergeant (now Probationary Inspector) Wan Fong-shing of the Internal Investigations Office was also sent to Indonesia for cross-border policing exchanges last January.
