Kowloon West Region (KW) conducted a counter-terrorism exercise codenamed “MOONEXPLORER” at the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station on June 27. More than 100 personnel participated, including officers from the Force and the Fire Services Department, MTR staff and students from the Hong Kong Institute of Technology.

The exercise simulated terrorists indiscriminately attacking passengers and placing suspicious objects in the station, with the aim of testing the capabilities of various units in handling terrorist attacks and emergencies. The exercise lasted about one hour. Through effective communication and collaboration, personnel swiftly subdued the suspects, coordinated crowd evacuations, and handled related emergency situations.

The exercise simulates a casualty receiving treatment.
