On August 5, the then Acting Regional Commander of New Territories North (Acting RC NTN) Peter Whitton led officers from the Crime New Territories North (NTN) Headquarters, as well as personnel from Border, Tai Po, Tuen Mun, and Yuen Long Districts, to hold a meeting with local Non-Ethnic Chinese (NEC) community leaders, religious figures, and representatives from the Home Affairs Department. The aim was to deepen communication and foster collaboration.

Expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the NEC leaders for their support to police work over the years, the then Acting
RC NTN emphasised that NTN would continue to maintain close ties with all sectors to jointly promote a safe and harmonious community.

During the meeting, officers presented the latest crime trends and crime prevention initiatives, and engaged in in-depth exchanges with the representatives on issues such as community security and ethnic integration. Officers from the Regional Crime Prevention Office of Kowloon East introduced the latest child protection legislation and strategies, while the Emergency Unit of NTN outlined an inter-departmental meeting and collaborative operation codenamed STORMWATCH, designed to address extreme weather. Members from the Yuen Long District Ethnic Minority Care Team were also invited to share information about their support services.
