The Crime Prevention Bureau (CPB) held the Standard Crime Prevention Course between July 13 and 24. 26 trainees from the CPB, Regional Crime Prevention Offices and Critical Infrastructure Security Coordination Centre completed the two-week training course.

Important rejuvenation has been made to this course. There is a reduction in duration from three weeks to two weeks, and part of the course has been moved online for learning before the course, allowing the face-to-face sessions to focus more on interactive discussion and practical application, thereby enhancing the overall training effectiveness.

The course covered crime prevention theories, practical skills, and relevant legislation. In response to the trends of technology crimes, the course also features the latest security equipment and technological applications, including closed-circuit television systems equipped with smart image and behavioural analytics, and specialised tools for responding to threats generated by artificial intelligence like Deepfake.

At the graduation ceremony, Senior Superintendent (Crime Support) of Crime Wing Chung Lai-yee expressed her gratitude to the guest speakers for their support and presented certificates of completion to the graduates. She called on the trainees to keep pace with the times and integrate crime prevention knowledge of preventing technology-related fraud into the community, safeguard the public and work together to build a safe community.
