Kowloon East Region (KE) held the Kowloon East Road Safety Activities Committee (KERSAC) Inauguration Ceremony cum Elderly Road Safety Ambassador Appointment Ceremony on July 24. The then Acting Regional Commander of Kowloon East (Acting RC KE) Mark Anstiss officiated at the ceremony and appointed the new term of KERSAC members and Elderly Road Safety Ambassadors.
The then Acting RC KE noted that, since its establishment in April 2024, KERSAC had achieved remarkable success, with the number of event participants rising from 37 000 to 50 000. Although overall traffic accident figures in KE had decreased in recent years, ensuring elderly pedestrian safety remained a top priority. He hoped that the newly appointed KERSAC members and Elderly Road Safety Ambassadors would continue to work closely with the Force to promote road safety within the community, striving towards the goal of “Zero Accidents on the Road”.
