Commissioner Chow Yat-ming visited Marine Port District (MPDIST) on August 26. Commander of MPDIST Clive Walton and officers from the Support Bureau of Marine Region briefed the Commissioner on the Mobile Response and Command Platform (MRCP) newly procured by the Region. The vessel is one of the new crafts acquired under the largest-ever Fleet Replacement Programme. The Commissioner praised the design and operational capabilities of the MRCP, noting that it aligned well with the demands of modern policing, and that it could be effectively deployed in large-scale policing operations, search and rescue missions and major incident exercises. The Commissioner also watched a demonstration by the Marine Small Unmanned Aircraft Team.

Subsequently, the Commissioner exchanged views with the frontline police officers and civilian staff from the District on topics such as manpower, welfare, benefits and smart policing. He also elaborated on the Performance Appraisal Enhancement Scheme for Civil Servants and encouraged supervisors at all levels to evaluate their subordinates’ work performance in a fair and objective manner.
