The Police College (College) held the Orientation Day for the 2026/27 school year “Diploma of Applied Education (DAE) - Police Cadet Training” programme on August 28, marking the official commencement of the third intake of the programme.

On the day of the event, Director of the College Cheng Lai‑ki and Deputy Director Tsang Fan-kwok encouraged the cadets of the new intake to uphold the spirit of “Wisdom, Courage, Integrity, and Perseverance”, and to face challenges with a proactive and positive attitude. Two graduated cadets from the previous intake currently undergoing foundation training also shared their training experiences, and encouraged the new cadets to fully commit to the training.

In addition, College staff arranged a tour of the training facilities for the cadets, and provided briefings on the disciplinary requirements and programme information.

The programme is jointly organised by the Force, the Caritas Institute of Community Education, the Hong Kong College of Technology, and the Hong Kong Institute of Technology, with the aim of nurturing young people aspiring to joining the Force. There are a total of 120 cadets in this intake. They will undergo 30-week training starting from September 8, and take part in the passing-out parade on May 29, 2027.
