The Scholarship Presentation Ceremony of the Police Children's Education Trust and the Police Education and Welfare Trust for the 2025/26 school year took place on August 14. Commissioner Chow Yat-ming, Chairperson of the Joint Management Committee of the trusts Professor Woo King-hang, and Chairperson of the Investment Advisory Board
Ms Au Pui-yee officiated at the ceremony, with the two chairpersons presenting the certificates.
During the ceremony, the Commissioner encouraged the awardees to keep striving and continuously equip themselves, excel in different domains, and contribute to society. He also thanked the donors for their generous contributions, as well as the Joint Management Committee and the Investment Advisory Board for their proper stewardship. Addressing the ceremony, Professor Woo King-hang congratulated the award recipients and encouraged them to remain determined and optimistic, and to draw wisdom from parents, teachers, and friends as they pursue their aspirations.
Student representative Mr Leung, awardee of the Dr Eddy Li Scholarship for Excellence, expressed gratitude for the recognition given by the trusts. Another Mr Leung, awardee of the Scholarship for Outstanding Talents and a gold medallist at the Asian Rope Skipping Championships, performed rope skipping on the spot and thanked the trusts for their financial support. Miss Lam, awardee of the Scholarship for Volunteerism, also shared her volunteer service experiences.
Additionally, two serving Senior Inspectors who were former scholarship awardees, Chloe Luk and Luk Chi-ho, were invited to share how the trusts had supported their studies and their subsequent experiences of joining the Force.
Since their establishment 59 years ago, the Police Children's Education Trust and the Police Education and Welfare Trust have benefited over 50 000 police children. For the 2025/26 school year, the two trusts disbursed a total of more than
$15 million in subsidies.
