The Personnel Services and Staff Relations Branch held the first functional fitness competition, FORCEFit Challenge 2026, on August 30 at the Police Sports and Recreation Club. The event attracted over 500 regular, auxiliary, and civilian members, with many colleagues, family members and friends present to cheer the participants on. Commissioner
Chow Yat-ming, together with Deputy Commissioner (National Security) Kan Kai-yan,
Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chan Joon-sun, and Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Yip Wan-lung, took part in the Officials’ Fun Games, competing alongside their fellow colleagues.
The competition featured, among others, Men’s and Women’s Doubles, Formation Relays, Elite Relays, and the Officials’ Fun Games. Events included running, ski-erg, burpees, rowing, sandbag lunges, and medicine ball thrusters, comprehensively testing participants’ explosive power, muscular endurance, and teamwork. The results of all competitions have been posted on the Force NoticeBoard.
In recent years, functional fitness training has gained popularity worldwide. This event provided an opportunity for officers and senior management to sweat and compete together on the same field. The Force will continue to organise diverse sports activities to encourage colleagues to enhance their physical fitness for meeting daily policing challenges and to promote work-life balance.
