In order to better utilise Force resources and enhance overall service efficiency, Tin Sum Division (TSDIV) of Sha Tin District (STDIST) was merged into Sha Tin Division (STDIV) and Ma On Shan Division (MOSDIV) on August 30. Regional Commander of New Territories South Cheung Wai-wah, Commander of STDIST Chan Rock-sang and other officers took part in the closing ceremony on the same day.
Tin Sum Police Station witnessed the development of Shatin and carries precious memories for the officers. An officer who experienced the establishment and closure of Tin Sum Police Station was invited for a sharing during the closing ceremony. He said that it was a great honour and yet an emotional moment to witness the police station completing its historic mission, and described Tin Sum Police Station as more than just a workplace, but also a place that fostered team spirit and camaraderie among colleagues.
After Tin Sum Police Station ceased operation, the relevant policing services will continue in an orderly fashion under the new arrangements. STDIST will continue to serve the community while safeguarding law and order in a professional and efficient manner.
