The Senior Police Call (SPC) Share the Love 2026 Kick-off Ceremony was held on September 18, marking the start of a year-long series of visit activities to show care for and distribute blessing bags to the elderly in need.
The ceremony was officiated by Commissioner Chow Yat-ming; Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Yip Wan-lung; Director of Operations Lui Kam-ho; Regional Commander of New Territories South and Chairperson of the SPC Central Advisory Board (CAB) Cheung Wai-wah; Chief Superintendent of the Public Relations Wing and Vice-Chairperson of the SPC CAB Lam Sze-wan; and SPC CAB representatives Ng Sau-kei, Dr Lam Wai-wing and Cheung Ka-ho. Members of the SPC CAB were also present to show support. The event was attended by over 300 elderly people from community centres under the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, Po Leung Kuk and Yan Chai Hospital.
In his speech, the Commissioner expressed gratitude to the SPC Home Visit Captains from various districts for conveying warmth and care, alongside crime prevention information, to the elderly in need through visit activities over the past year. He also thanked the SPC CAB and SPC members for their support for the initiative.
The event featured a seminar, an anti-deception drama performance, a workshop on the “Scameter+” mobile application, and a Mid-Autumn lantern riddle game promoting national security messages.
The SPC Share the Love 2026 runs from the kick-off date until August next year. The new cohort of SPC Home Visit Captains will commence their visit activities, distributing a total of 10 000 blessing bags filled with food, daily necessities and Force promotional leaflets in 22 districts.
