QRF representatives complete mountain rescue training
Three representatives from the Quick Reaction Force of New Territories North (QRF NTN) attended the Mountain Rescue Training Course organised by the Chinese Mountaineering Association in Guiyang, Guizhou from August 16 to 22.
The course covered mountain search and rescue (SAR) strategies, rope techniques in complex terrain, first aid and casualty handling, as well as command and coordination in adverse environments. The trained officers will be responsible for formulating standard operating procedures and conducting internal training to comprehensively enhance the QRF’s mountain SAR capabilities and emergency preparedness.
With advanced mountain SAR skills and extensive operational experience, the QRF can assist in devising SAR plans tailored to different situations, while providing site reconnaissance support and sharing expertise in working at altitude. Districts or formations requiring operational support are welcome to contact the officer-in-charge of the QRF NTN.
Delegation goes to Zhejiang Province for exchanges
Deputy District Commander of Tai Po District Lai Ho-fai led a five-member delegation from the New Territories North Region (NTN) to the Wenzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau in Zhejiang Province for exchanges from September 2 to 4. The delegation visited various public security units and exchanged views with local officers on areas such as operations, traffic management and technology application.
The delegation also toured a local police equipment manufacturing factory, Yangdanshan Global Geopark and the archaeological site of Shuomen ancient port to learn more about the country's high-quality development and rich natural and historical resources.
