Commissioner attends 2026 Conference of Global Public Security Cooperation Forum (Lianyungang)
Commissioner Chow Yat-ming led a delegation to attend the 2026 Conference of Global Public Security Cooperation Forum (Lianyungang) held in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, from September 8 to 10. Representatives from 120 countries, regions and international organisations engaged in discussions under the theme “Unite to Advance Public Security Governance, Bring Stability to a Turbulent World”. The conference featured eight sub-forums, allowing participants to exchange insights on relevant issues.
During the conference, the Commissioner held bilateral meetings with the Commissioner General of the Cambodian National Police Mr Sar Theth and the Minister of Public Security of Vietnam Mr Luong Tam Quang respectively. These meetings further promoted intelligence sharing and strengthened collaboration mechanisms, laying a solid foundation for enhancing cross-boundary cooperation.
In addition, Director of Crime and Security (D C&S) Chan Tung and Director of the Police College Cheng Lai-ki attended the Cybersecurity Sub-forum and the Sub-forum on International Police Education Cooperation respectively, where they delivered keynote speeches. During the forums, Force representatives exchanged experiences with participants from different places and explored opportunities for cooperation in areas such as combatting crime, talent cultivation and policing development.
Secretariat of INTERPOL GA meets with INTERPOL officials
Led by Assistant Commissioner (Crime) (ACP Crime) Chung Wing-man, the Secretariat of the 94th INTERPOL General Assembly (GA) met with INTERPOL’s Director of Communications Mr Samuel Heath; Deputy Director of Cabinet
Mr Matteo Vaccani; and Deputy Director of Governance Mr Philippe Lejeune, in Lyon, France, on September 10 and 11. The delegation conducted discussions with INTERPOL representatives regarding the latest progress of the preparation work for the GA. Both sides will work closely together to ensure the smooth conduct of the GA and further strengthen collaboration.
Hosted by China, the 94th INTERPOL GA will be held in Hong Kong for the first time from November 30 to December 3. Over 1 000 police chiefs, ministers and senior law enforcement leaders from INTERPOL’s member countries will attend the event in Hong Kong to deliberate on policing issues and jointly tackle current international policing challenges.
