The Secretary for Security Mr Tang Ping-keung officiated at the Auxiliary Police passing-out parade at the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force Headquarters on August 15, inspecting 227 graduating members including Inspectors (Auxiliary), Station Sergeants (Auxiliary), Sergeants (Auxiliary), and Police Constables (Auxiliary).
In his address, Mr Tang pointed out that Police is not merely a profession. It is even an honour, a responsibility and a mission. These qualities are especially evident among Auxiliary members, who devote their family time to quietly safeguarding the safety and order of the community.
Mr Tang stressed that although Auxiliary members serve on a part-time basis, they are also unsung heroes on the forefront, bearing the same pressure, challenges and dangers as regular officers. He paid tribute to the Auxiliary members, praising them for adhering to the principle of “With faith, we act by courage and selflessness”.
