The Police College (the College) passed the accreditation exercise conducted by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications in August, becoming the first government department qualified to offer Bachelor’s degree programmes. It will launch the Bachelor of Policing (Honours) (Security and Criminal Investigation) programme (the Programme) at the end of the year.
The Programme is an “Applied Degree Programme” pitched at Qualifications Framework Level 5, with a study duration of approximately three to four years. Its curriculum covers modules such as Recruit Police Constable (RPC) foundation training, the Standard Criminal Investigation Course, police practicums in the Uniform Branch and criminal investigation units, workplace and academic English, and a capstone project. The Programme provides two admission pathways to allow colleagues with different educational backgrounds to apply. Those who have completed the Programme will be awarded a Bachelor’s degree by the College, and will subsequently be eligible to apply for Master’s degree programmes at local or non-local tertiary institutes. Programme fees are fully funded by the Force.
The College held admission talks for RPCs and regular officers on September 28 and October 6 respectively, with more than 200 attendees in total. The next admission talk will be held on October 21 at the Auditorium on 8/F, Police Headquarters. Colleagues can register via iSubmit and check details through the College webpage.
The College will start accepting admission applications for the 2026/27 financial year on November 2, with the deadline on December 30. For enquiries, please contact Learning Services Division (1) at 3661 5235 or via P-Chat (HKPC Academic Office).
