The Detective Training Centre (DTC) of the Police College (the College) hosted the inaugural “Workshop on Investigation Principles and Fundamentals” on September 29 and 30 to share the Force’s professional knowledge and practical experience in criminal investigations, consolidating the basic investigative skills of frontline officers from various government departments. 200 officers from 30 government departments attended.

Instructors from the DTC spoke in the workshop, covering practical issues such as evidence gathering, taking of statements, court testimony, and preparation of court documents.

Given the positive feedback from participants, the DTC will incorporate the workshop as a regular item to enhance inter-departmental professional exchanges and experience sharing, boosting overall law enforcement effectiveness.

Director of the College Cheng Lai-kei delivers an opening speech at the workshop.
