DIRECTOR of Finance, Administration and Planning, Stanley Wong Wing-hong, recently presented a Commanding Officer's Commendation to WCIP Annie Fonda in December for her outstanding performance from October 1996 to November 1998 while serving in the Planning & Development Branch.


Banners for Tuen Mun
IN late December last year, the Tuen Mun Provisional District Board and a number of organisations in the district presented banners and silver plates to police officers for their professional ability shown in the solving of a homicide, rape and a series of burglary cases.

ADC C TMDIST Superintendent Li Wing-hong, Chief Inspector C Chan Wa-shing and all members of DCS 1 TMDIST were presented silver plates and banners for their effort in cracking a homicide case which occurred in a local restaurant.


Tuen Mun crimebusters receiving recognition from an appreciative community

Additionally, OC DCS 1 Inspector Chan Man-sek, all members of DCS 1 TMDIST and the investigation team of CPKDIV were presented banners for their successful cracking of a rape and robbery case in Wu King Estate in Tuen Mun.

CPKDIV Detective Chief Inspector Sin Chi-sing, Station Sergeant Chan Kam-shung and Police Constables 58321 and 54990 of PSU 4 CPKDIV were also presented banners for their effort and profesionalism in solving five burglary cases in Tuen Mun's Butterfly Estate.

Force first overall in 1998 fundraising
ACP Personnel Yam Tat-wing recently accepted a prize on behalf of the Force for raising $105,975 in this year's Trailwalker 1998 during a presentation ceremony held by Oxfam.

A team of four women police officers from Police Training School (PTS) took the championship in the Ladies Team category of the walk which raises money for the needy and disadvantaged in Hong Kong, mainland China, Asia and Africa. A total of 36 police officers from different formations including PTS, PTU, Crime Wing and SDU, formed nine teams to walk the 100-kilometre route along the MacLehose Trail from Pak Tam Chung in Sai Kung to Tuen Mun within 48 hours.


Police Trailwalkers accept trophy for raising $105,975 for charity

The Hong Kong Police Force came first overall in fund raising among all Government departments for 1998.
