Course hones top basketball talent

Don't be surprised if you see a horde of kids practising basketball in the Police Sports and Recreation Club corridors over the summer.

Their slick moves on the court are abounding thanks to a training course organised by the Police Basketball Club and the PSRC.

Some 40 kids have joined the summer classes run by instructors from the Force to increase their skills and techniques, including defence and attack. The course will also give them a good sense of team camaraderie and sportsmanship.

Split into four teams, they will later compete for the Chairman's Trophy in the Police Children's Basketball Tournament on August 19.

The Club intends to recruit good players later this year to form a Police Children's Basketball Team to compete in open tournaments.

So get down to the PSRC on the 19th and give the youngsters a cheer!
