MARINE OFFICERS RESCUE CAPSIZED DRAGON BOATERS
(This letter was sent to the Regional Commander of Marine)
We are the Freudenberg and Vilene Dragon Boat Team and on June 8 this year we had a practise in Sai Kung waters. We met your Marine Police team and raced against each other to have more fun during our practise.
However, suddenly a high-speed boat came close to us. It made a strong wave and water filled our boat, making us sink. Your 20 team members jumped into the water to save our lives.
Fortunately, we had Station Sergeants Chan Pik-bik and Wong Hoi-keung who organised the team to help us and we made it back to the pier in safe condition.
Afterwards, your team members even helped us to find all our equipment which was lost in the incident.
We wish to express our sincere thanks to your team members, especially Mr Chan and Mr Wong.
