A total of 133 civic-minded citizens took part in a Declaration of Office ceremony to enrol as Police Constables (Auxiliary) at the Auxiliary Police Headquarters on August 13.
Administrated by Commandant of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force Chau Cham-chiu the declaration ceremony was the first one after the implementation of the reform of the roles and functions of the Auxiliaries.
Contrary to the misconception in some sectors, the Auxiliary Police will not be disbanded after the reform, which was launched to make the most efficient use of Force resources.
On the same occasion, 147 Sha Tin District Auxiliary police officers took part in an Annual Continuation Training Passing-out Parade.
