Application for Adjustment of Allowance


In accordance with the Civil Service Regulation 1637, an officer who is entitled to an increase in allowance (e.g. through incremental progression or promotion or due to changes of monthly repayment) shall submit two copies of Application for Adjustment in Allowance under the Home Financing Scheme - TRY/HFS 10(97) (obtainable from Police Quartering Division) to the Director of Accounting Services through the PQD for such an increase. In support of the above claim, the officer is to enclose one copy of updated mortgage repayment schedule(s), rental receipt, etc.

The increased rate of allowance shall take effect:

(i) from the date on which an officer's entitled rate of allowance is changed; or

(ii) from the date on which the cost of renting accommodation is changed; or

(iii) in the case of acquired property, one month before the repayment due date of the revised mortgage instalment, whichever date comes last.
