T NTS family day

Traffic, New Territories South held its Healthy Lifestyle Family day on August 29.

About 30 families joined a daytrip tour to the University of Science and Technology, Lions Nature Education Centre, Che Kung Temple, Chi Lin Nunnery and enjoyed a pigeon meal.

Despite unstable weather, over 120 officers, civilian staff and their families visited different landmarks in Sai Kung, Sha Tin and Kowloon East. At the Lions Nature Education Centre, families visited the insect and seashell museums and a farm.

The day also included a little worshipping at the temple, and a sumptuous lunch followed by a quiz and a lucky draw.

The day was both exciting and warming, achieving its aim to promote a harmonious family life which was an important part of a healthy lifestyle.

The formation thanked family members and colleagues who assisted to make the day run smoothly, and promised further, similar activities would be organised.

The formation also held a table tennis competition at the New Territories South Operational Base in Tsuen Wan the following day, with a good turnout of officers and civilians participating.

Of the Inter-Divisional Competition, Enforcement and Control officers emerged victorious.

However, Sergeants Fung Wai-kwong and Au Wai-keung from Accident Investigation took out the mixed doubles event, the former also winning the men's singles. Clerical Assistant Lam Yuen-yu won the women's singles crown.

A number of winners said after the competition they had represented their schools when they were young, and practised before the competition. Other participants said they were devoting more time to practising for the next challenge.
