Partial reimbursement of commuting expenses

Staff Relations

From July 1, 1999, the "no-claim limit" for partial reimbursement of home-office travel expenses by public transport was increased from $10.80 to $11.40 per return journey and from $5.40 to $5.70 for single trips.
The concessionary reimbursement arrangement for the Central - Tuen Mun hoverferry service for officers residing on Hong Kong Island or outlying islands and working in Tuen Mun or Yuen Long, or officers in between these two towns, the net amount of travel expenses reimbursable remained at $27 per return trip.
The amount was the net amount reimbursable after deduction of the "no-claim limit" under CSR 732. Existing arrangements for reimbursement of public transport fares by the cheapest route will continue where it is necessary for the officer to commute from home to Central and from Tuen Mun to work places around Yuen Long.
For enquiries, please contact the Staff Relations hotline at 2866-7519.
