D OPS Dick Lee and the Hong Kong delegation (right) review the past year with Garrison officials

The Force and the Hong Kong Garrison held their latest Annual Review Meeting on January 31, the second since the People's Liberation Army took up the post in 1997.

Director of Operations Dick Lee Ming-kwai headed the Force delegation of eight, which also included Assistant Commissioner of Police (Operations) Cheung Chi-shum and Marine Regional Commander Foo Tsun-kong, while the seven-member Garrison delegation was headed by Deputy Chief of Staff, Senior Colonel Yi Nengquan.

At the meeting, both sides reviewed their working-level co-operation for the past year and discussed one another's operations. The better understanding was conducive to more effective co-ordination in areas where duties of the Garrison related to day-to-day policing.

The meeting also looked at new areas where co-operation could be enhanced between the two parties, boosting mutual communication and their working relationship.
