Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Yam Tat-wing hailed a new batch of Police Tactical Unit Echo Company officers for their top efforts during the festive period.

Mr Yam was speaking at the passing-out parade of the troop, completing their 12-week training on February 25. He praised their performance in crowd management operations during New Year and Lunar New Year festivities saying they performed as well as any Company who had already passed out.

Mr Yam said he shared their graduation joy having served himself as a platoon commander, a company commander and PTU Commandant over the years.

Guests at the parade included retired Deputy Commissioner of Police John Morrin and retired Commissioner of Correctional Services and former Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Eric McCosh, whose son Duncan is Echo Company Commander. The recruits were drawn from Hong Kong Island Region, where they will also be attached until October.
