HKI road awareness day

Some 8,000 people attended an event-packed Hong Kong Island Regional Road Safety Promotion Day at Wan Chai's Southorn Playground on April 2.
Urging both drivers and pedestrians to observe road safety regulations, the promotion day featured performances by Road Safety Patrol teams formed by kindergarten and primary school students, a foot-drill parade, magic and acrobatic shows, and a classic car display.
Apart from viewing displays, visitors also boarded a road safety bus to update their road safety knowledge. Participants could also have breath-screening and eyesight tests conducted on the spot. All this and the obligatory quizzes and games stalls.
Assistant Commissioner for Transport Alan Lui Shung-yee and Road Safety Patrol Hong Kong Commissioner Ng Keing-wai officiated at the event.
