Mutable Myron joins the Police Mag crew

First take: IP Myron Ng on set with Cable TV anchor Karina Fan

Myron Ng is the new face you'll soon see presenting Police Report and its Cantonese sister show Police Magazine.

The 29-year-old Inspector recently transferred to the Police Public Relations Branch from the Divisional Crime Investigation Unit of Yau Ma Tei, formerly serving as the Patrol Sub-unit Commander of Mong Kok District, and as the Platoon Three Commander of the Police Tactical Unit's Echo Company.

Married with a young daughter, he studied political science and economics in Canada and brings with him a wealth of experience from numerous fields such as hospitality, banking and publishing.

"Although it sounds diversified and interesting, these were no match for my ultimate career goal. The nature of working as a police officer is challenging and remarkably mutable - such as being a presenter on the Force TV programme. It is definitely a new challenge and a highlight in my career," Myron said.

He added he was approachable and open-minded to comments and criticism of the programme, and encouraged officers to forward their cases, appeals and stories for possible presentation.

"Officers should not think their case is too common to include in the show, or that detection via television appeal is remote. All cases differ in various ways, however audiences need to be reminded of issues from time to time," he said. "It is important to project the Force image so the public has a better understanding of us, therefore I need your support to include more appeals not only in detecting crime, but also to better educate the community and work hand-in-hand in fulfilling our objectives in fighting crime and keeping Hong Kong one of the world's safest cities."
